This new trademark's mention of video games also includes ' downloadable programs for portable and electronic consoles' would make us think that if a new Donkey Kong game is in the works, it would be for the Switch. While we see Donkey Kong in just about every Mario sports game, he has not had his own starring video game since 2014’s Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze which was re-released for the Switch in 2018.
